Stegosaurus

StegosaurusScientists have determined that the Stegosaurus had a small brain, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t intelligent. Stegosauruses were plentiful and were around for a long time, meaning they knew how to survive. The deadly spikes on their tails were weapons. Scientists don’t know for sure what the plates going down their back were for, but they could have been like solar panels that captured sun or cool air to help regulate the body temperature.

Dilophosaurus

UtahraptorThe Dilophosaurus was the largest dinosaur in the early Jurassic period measuring 19 feet long and 6 1/2 feet tall. Although it was depicted as spitting poison in the Jurassic Park movie, there is no fossil evidence to support that. A fully grown Dilophosaurus weighed around 900 pounds.

Allosaurus

AllosaurusThe Allosaurus was the most common predator during the Jurassic period. They probably hunted in groups because many Allosaurus fossils have been found together in one place. In Utah, one site was found with more than 10,000 dinosaur bones, half of which came from the Allosaurus.
